gifts

A large selection of gifts are available from here for LGBT folk and their friends. To choose a book, CD, DVD, or video go to the celebrity charts section, and click on any of the free star chart profiles. Most of these chart pages have a selection of products by or about the celebrity available in the right hand column. By clicking on these and purchasing them directly from Amazon through my website you will have a great gift for someone and also earn me a commission so I can add even more free star charts and profiles to this website.

This month's recommended gift is MythAstrology: Exploring Planets and Pantheons (2004). This book provides a unique and comprehensive guide to understanding the different paths in life shaped by each planet in each zodiac sign. The energies of each are explained according to a different mythological figure. The author Raven Kaldera taps into his encyclopædic knowledge of pantheons to enlighten and entertain readers with inspiring tales from a diversity of cultures including the Celtic, Chinese, Egyptian, Hellenic, Hindu, Japanese, Nordic, Roman, Sumerian and Yoruban. Not one to shy away from the sexuality of mythological archetypes, he discusses deities such as the gender-bending Athena, gender-crossing Tiresias, bisexual Zeus, his lover Ganymede, and the slutty Lilith. Through witty and matter-of-fact story-telling, MythAstrology provides ready insight into your star chart and those of family, friends or clients. A rich resource for delineating natal, progressed, or even composite charts, this is an excellent reference book for the lay reader or students and practitioners of Astrology and Mythology. To purchase your copy click on the picture at left, or visit Raven Kaldera's star chart profile for more info about this FTM author and his other books.

rainbow charts collection
Free charts of glbt public figures & events can be found in my rainbow data collection. The charts are accompanied by pictures and astro-profiles, and all data is classified for accuracy according to the Rodden Rating system. I designed the coloured chart wheels using Solar Fire software. The rainbow collection includes charts for icons such as Barbie, Divine, Lou Sullivan, The Topp Twins, & Andy Warhol, plus many more. Recent additions can be found in the column at Right >>>
more databases

Selections from my Rainbow data collection are included in the Ed Steinbrecher Collection CD, Lois Roddens's AstroDatabank CD & website, and Frank C. Clifford's book British Entertainers: The Astrological Profiles. Information about these and other collections can be found in my astro-data collections section which includes various links for those interested in astro-data and genealogical research.
lgbt & other astrologers

Personal astrology charts and readings are available from the queer folk on my consultant astrologers list. This list of 'out' astrologers includes their brief profiles and info about their publications, websites, etc. The lgbt astrologers of the past is a list of often unrecognised queer occult practitioners from our rich history. A list of even more astrologers includes some folk who have produced works dealing with homo-, bi- & trans-sexual issues, or who are of general interest.
articles
Astrologers from around the world have shared their views about sexuality and gender issues in various online articles. For example, Simon Wicham-Smith in his "Black Moon Lilith and the Tabu of Gender Dysphoria: Some Preliminary Thoughts," proposes that True BML indicates "the way in which the subject deals with tabus and the way in which his or her society works with tabus [including those] surrounding sex and gender and sexuality" (and yes, he welcomes input from other folks interested in his research). For more references check out my comprehensive bibliography of printed works dealing with astrology and sexuality.
a bit about me

I'm an openly-gay Australian guy working on a Master of Philosophy thesis in Queer Studies, and a book about queer astrology. Of mixed English, Chinese & Jewish ancestry, I have dual Australian-British nationality. I enjoy cryptic crosswords, yoga, and lap-swimming. I like animals and am a vegan. My brief biography has more about me including links to my astrology chart, and (coming soon) my star-blog (a scrapbook of text and pix about my life according to annual planetary returns).
miscellanea

Unfortunately I cannot answer all the email requests I receive about personal or celebrity charts. However, you can discuss Astrology in a LGBT-friendly environment on the rainbow stars mailing list which has a broad base of queer subscribers, or try the astrolesbians list which is exclusively for stargayzing lesbian womyn.
